Mercy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy high-quality seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to improve her farm, and, as a single mother, to support her children.

Mercy's story

Meet this nice woman, Mercy (pictured alongside her farming neighbor). She is polite, devoted, responsible, and hardworking. She is forty-three years old and works entirely on her farm. Mercy, a single mother, enjoys not only the increased profits, but also the independence that comes with farming. For the past seven years, Mercy has earned a living by farming and selling the produce she raises, as well as milk, sheep, and eggs. She enjoys plowing her farm and watering her plants. Crop diseases pose a big challenge for her as well as poor productivity (like many farmers from her region).

Mercy has always wanted to diversify and start horticultural farming, but her biggest challenge is lack of funds to get the business off the ground. She is requesting a loan to buy high-quality seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to improve her farm. In Kenya, agriculture is one of the most competitive industries, especially due to the high costs of operations necessary to improve farming. Such costs include the cost of land acquisition and inputs, which have skyrocketed.

With this loan, Mercy expects to increase her crop production, which will translate into a high, good-quality yield. Her living standards will be changed completely. The loan you will give this woman will have a lasting impact in her heart.
