Miguel Angel's story

Santa Ana is a beautiful valley and the strong point in the area is agriculture; there are fields of corn and rice, cattle-ranching and in the local cuisine there are a variety of typical dishes such as a peanut-based fish soup, tongas (a dish of rice, chicken, plantain and peanut sauce) etc. They also have fresh water spas.

Miguel is 33 years old and in a common-law relationship. He has 2 children aged 2 and 8, one goes to school. His partner is a housewife. They live in his mother-in-law's home.

Miguel has earned a living to help the family for more than 7 years by rearing pigs, which he fattens and when they are ready to sell, he offers them to merchants to sell them live. He also sells them butchered by the pound to private clients, neighbours and shops. He rears them at home where he has a space. With this new loan he will buy pigs, compound animal feed, vaccinations. His dream is to have a pig farm.
