A loan helped buy sheep for fattening.

Aïssata's Group's story

This group was founded in January 2015 and is comprised of 10 women who live in the same area. They are parents and neighbors who are united in their work. Their main activity is fattening sheep.

Madame Diary, the group representative, is 46 years old. She is standing at right in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of five children, including one boy.

She is a dynamic woman who pushes the group members for economic growth. She has been working in sheep fattening for 18 years and has a lot of experience in this area.

She buys her sheep at the weekly market and runs her business out of her home. She wants to pay for 10 sheep, four bags of feed, and veterinary care. She will resell the sheep after four months of fattening them.

She uses her income to take care of her children and to grow her flock.
