Perlas Preciosas De Dios Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy clothing specifically for rainy weather.

Perlas Preciosas De Dios Group's story

It is the beginning of the first Kiva loan cycle for the 10 ladies in the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Perlas Preciosas de Dios” who live in the department/state of Quetzaltenango. They will invest their loans into their businesses, selling prepared foods, tortillas, beauty products and clothing.

At their monthly meetings, they make loan payments and participate in educational trainings that are essential to their success. Topics are relevant to their personal, family and business lives, and can include health, hygiene, nutrition, prioritizing expenses, or business basics like planning, budgeting, investing and savings. The useful combination of loans, educational training and healthcare services is called “Microcredit Plus.”

Sandra, a married 61-year-old mother of 3 children and 4 grandchildren, is a member of the Trust Bank. She has several businesses. Her main business is selling clothing of different sizes. She is requesting a Kiva loan to buy clothing specifically for rainy weather. Sandra has regular customers who count on her for her well-chosen inventory.

Sandra shares, “I have learned throughout the years how to effectively sell to my customers. When I go to someone’s home with my articles of clothing, I never leave without selling them something. I am really pleased with my ability to be a good businesswoman.”

Sandra and her friends at the Trust Bank send their gratitude to Kiva investors for funding their loans. You each are much appreciated!
