Lucy's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy seeds and expand her horticulture farming and use the profits to support her family.

Lucy's story

Lucy, a repeat Kiva borrower, is a dedicated, determined and honest mother of a lovely family. She is based in Kenyenya, Kenya. The rich soil of this area makes it one of the nation’s biggest banana growing regions, lending it the nickname of “Matoke region." (Matoke is a mouthwatering food prepared with bananas.)

For the past 10 years, Lucy has been involved in mixed farming. Her primary source of income has been selling milk, eggs, maize, horticultural products and a variety of food crops. These ventures have allowed her to earn a decent income.

Lucy passionately loves horticulture farming, but the biggest challenge she faces is the lack of funds. Lucy is requesting a loan to buy seeds and expand her horticulture farming.

Having gone through training on loan management, she is educated on how to use the loan and save more money. Through this loan, Lucy will generate enough income to take care of the farming costs and expand her horticulture business to international markets.

If there is someone you should consider lending to this 2018, then that person is Lucy! She won’t let you down and will fully repay back the loan.
