Ruth's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to pay registration fees for her daughter and also buy her scholastic materials.

Ruth's story

Ruth is a 33-year-old woman living on the outskirts of Jinja. A married mother of three children who all attend school. Ruth is a tailor, a business which has been her main source of income for seven years.

Ruth pursued a diploma in tailoring after her senior six because her parents could not afford university. She got a job at her auntie's tailoring shop where she worked for two years. It is from this job that she mastered the art and skills of tailoring.

After two years, Ruth left and used her meager savings to buy a second-hand tailoring machine to start her own tailoring shop. Her clients are mainly schools and women within her region. The money she earns supports the family since she is the sole bread winner of the family, as her husband was laid off from work a few months back.

With her many financial responsibilities, it is hard for Ruth to raise her children's school fees on time. She has therefore applied for a loan of 1,000,000 UGX from UGAFODE to pay the registration fees for her daughter, who is in her senior six, and also buy her scholastic materials.

Ruth is grateful for the financial support that will enable her daughter to finish her advanced level. Her dream is to see all her children graduate and become successful in the future.
