Seipone Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the stove.

Seipone Group's story

'Maneo is a 65-year-old widow, who has six children aged between 46 and 30, and also nine grandchildren aged between 21 and 5. She lives in a traditional hut, thatched and built with sandstone. There is no electricity in her village or nearby villages, and unemployment is rife in this village. Most people in the village depend largely on subsistence farming.

'Maneo survives on temporary jobs, like working on other people's fields, especially during the hoeing and harvesting seasons. When she saw the ACE1 in a neighbouring village, she was interested in having one as she says it would make her life easier; she currently struggles to light her hut and sometimes sleeps in the dark because she cannot afford paraffin. With the arrival of the ACE1 stove, all she needs to do is to charge the stove in the sun and use the LED lamp to light her home.

'Maneo and the other women in the group have kindly requested a loan from Kiva lenders to pay for the stove.
