Sarasaini's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay the 50 percent deposit for a car to transport her freshwater mussels to the market.

Sarasaini's story

Sarasaini leaves her home in Nacokaika at 5 a.m. from Monday to Saturday just to make sure she sells her produce at the town market. Sarasaini makes a living selling freshwater mussel (kai) and is usually stationed at the seafood corner. She has been selling for the past four years. Married with five children, she said the money she earned from selling helped support her family.

Poor transportation has always been her major challenge. Sometimes the amount she pays for one-way travel is even more than her sales. She is requesting a loan to make a 50 percent deposit for a car. This would ease the struggle of transporting her goods and make many good returns.
