Maria Monica's story
Maria Monica, fondly named “ Bing”, is 33 years old and still single. She lives happily with her parents at Brgy. Bangar, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. With the help of her parents, she finished a vocational course particularly Home Technology. She aimed to uplift their status of living so she can prepare her future and provide for her parents who are now growing old. Due to scarcity of job opportunities, she put up a small eatery in their village selling cooked food and snacks. Since she has small capital she can only earn a net income of PHP600.00 a week which they used to meet their daily basic needs and save some for their future. She aimed to improve her small eatery and she wants to borrow additional capital from the KIVA lenders amounting to PHP6,000.00. This will used in the improvement of her business. She hopes that with this financial assistance, she can able to improve her small business and increase her income. As she have said, “ A person with faith and determination will reach his ambition."
