Ang Nua 38 Group's story

Thien, 35, is a Thai ethnic woman. She was born in 1983, has been married and is the mother of two sons at the age of 16 and 10. Most of her family income is from agricultural production such as growing rice, coffee, and corn, and raising chickens, pigs and poultry. But the productivity is not favorable sometimes. Last year, the rice plants died because of cold weather.

Thien and her husband have tried hard to increase production but without being trained in any specialty, this couple is only based on agricultural production with very old traditional techniques by experience. With the technique counseling and loan at the Anh Chi Em program, recently, she has been able to expand her farming. With the loan, she could afford to buy fertilizer for the coffee trees, as she believes that the high-productivity coffee harvest will bring good profit to her family.

She hopes that with the advice from the agriculture workers of the Anh Chi Em program and her husband’s support, her investment will go well and help to significantly improve her family’s income. Thien plans to use the profit for saving money to repair her house and pay her children’s tuition.
