Irene's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more potatoes for resale to meet her customers' demands, hence increasing her income to pay school fees for her children and provide food for them.

Irene's story

Irene is a 44-year-old lady, married and blessed with six children. She is a member of Koisogei Women Group which joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in the year 2017 to benefit from enterprise development and financial management training.

She buys and sells potatoes. She is taking a Kiva loan to buy more potatoes for resale. She hopes this will meet her customers' demands, hence increasing her income. She will therefore use the anticipated income to pay school fees for her children and provide food for them.

She is grateful to Kiva and their lenders and promises to repay promptly.
