Angellah's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to add more money into the mobile money business for transactions.

Angellah's Group's story

Angellah's group is comprised of 3 hard working women. Angellah is 24 years old and lives in the town of Kasangati in the Kasangati region of Uganda. She is married and has one child. For the past 2 years, Angellah has been working hard to manage her Mobile Money, which transacts money through mobile phones.

To help expand her business, Angellah has requested a share of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to add more money into the mobile money business for transactions, and will help Angella to generate greater profits. Expanding her business will enable Angellah to afford the basic needs of life, improve her standards of living, and to support her child as well. Angellah hopes that in the future she will be able to buy a plot of land and build rentals so as to enhance her income.

Angellah is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skills training.
