Peter's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase cereals to resell in order to meet the demand in his local market and remote area, improve his living conditions and eventually pay tuition fees for his children.

Peter's story

Dear Kiva community,

Peter is a humble father who is hardworking and is not deterred by the difficult situations he has been through. He resides in the Bungoma area of Kenya, which is known for having good rainfall patterns, which favors farming. Peter is married to a hardworking wife who helps him in his day-to-day activities on his farm. They cooperate in trying to give their children a better lifestyle. He believes that it's through farming that he will be able to break the chains of poverty. For the past 30 years of farming, Peter can attest that he has made great strides.

He points out that the income he gets is only enough to meet the basic needs of his family and that he is left very little money to save for his children's education. His customers have recently shown a high interest in cereals, and thus he has requested a loan to purchase cereals. The Bungoma area has a high population and could be the perfect area for Peter to do his business. Profits from the cereal business will be used to repay the loan and improve his living conditions.

Lenders, if there is someone whom you should consider lending to this season, then that person is Peter.
