A loan helped to buy a cow.

Noong Luong 121 Group's story

Hoa, 55, is a Thai ethnic woman who is married and has two adult daughters and one son. Her daughters have married and live apart from her.

Now she lives in a crowed family including her husband, her father-in-law, her son and his wife, her nephew and niece in a traditional Thai stilt house.

She has been a farmer since she was a little girl and has tried so hard to provide for the family.

Agricultural production is her main income, such as growing rice and vegetables and raising fish, chickens and pigs. Sometimes her son goes to work as temporary builder to add more income.

Her main hardships are lack of capital and a crowed family (she has worked very hard to give her family the well-being and to take care her father-in-law, who is 97 years old).

Currently, she has taken out a loan from Anh Chi Em program to buy a cow. She hopes that this cow will grow up and give her baby cows to sell in the future.

She plans to use the profit to buy a washing machine. In the picture, she stands at the first from the right.
