Nicholas's story

Nicholas is a repeat client of UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd (MDI). He is 34 years of age, is married and has three children.

His main business is operating a carpentry workshop in Nyakatoma, Ishaka, Bushenyi district. He also has a banana plantation project which contributes to his income because he can manage to raise at least UGX 300,000 from his matooke (green plantain) project per month.

He started carpentry in 2008 to earn income to help provide for his family. He works for 8 hours, 6 days a week. Nicholas will use the money to buy more stock of timber, nails, varnish, etc. for making furniture like beds and chairs to improve his sales and also meet the demand by his customers.
