Nancy's story

Hello, special Kiva community!

Nancy is a mother full of dreams and goals for her life. She wants to get her family ahead with the sweat of her brow, so she started her farming business 13 years ago. Nancy is very hardworking and a go-getter. She hails from a remote village in the Nkubu area of Kenya. This area has some tough living conditions, and to survive, she had to have tough skin. But, she has defied all the odds and has engaged in farming. Her primary sources of income are poultry, vegetables, crops, and animal farming. She also gets some income through a personal business.

Nancy is content with the farming way of life. She is an enterprising woman. Although she never had formal education, or formal employment, she has always worked hard on her farm and has always been able to provide her children and family with decent meals.

The Nkubu area has favorable conditions for horticulture farming. That is why she is seeking a loan to buy seeds so that she can expand her horticulture farming. Because of the good roads, a good climate, and a good transportation network, she is sure that she will reap maximum profits and be able to increase her business.

Nancy is very thankful in advance for your help and contribution. She is looking forward to your warm response this coming international women’s day.
