Gpf Bok Yakar Group's story

This women's promotion group Bok Yakar is made up of five women who live in the same neighborhood. Their main activities are petty trade and animal breeding. They repaid their first loan without difficulties. 44-year-old president Binta Coumba is standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised. She is a married mother of four children, two boys and two girls. The eldest is 26 years old and he is at university and her second daughter is in her senior year of high school. She runs a small business of cosmetics, incense and sheets. At the same time, she does poultry farming. She capitalizes on 16 years of experience. She conducts her activities at home and has given the management of the henhouse to her younger brother. For this loan Binta intends to buy 100 chicks, 6 bags of food, vaccines, bed sheets and incense. She hopes to get by with good sales. Her profits allow her to continue her business, to help her brother who manages the henhouse, to take care of the education of her children and certain family expenses.
