Palok's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to add 50 chickens to the existing flock of 20, selling the eggs and increasing family income.

Palok's story

Palok and his wife, Angjelina, are requesting a loan of 50,000 ALL to buy 50 chickens to add to their present flock of 20, to sell the eggs and increase family income. They are in their 60s and parents of five ─ three teenagers and two in their early 20s. They all live in the rural northern part of the country.

Livestock has been their livelihood for 10 years. They have three dairy cows which generate $3000 annually from selling their raw milk. The third cow they bought with a Kiva loan two years ago. On their 12 dynym of agricultural land, they plant grains and fodder, but they don't sell any of it, using it for their animals and family consumption.

Palok is retired. He was a high school biology teacher. His wife works in a fish factory for half the $179/month minimum pay.
