A loan helped to buy chickens and musk ducks.

Noong Het 66 Group's story

Ui is a 54-year-old Thai ethnic lady who is pictured first from the right above. She is married and has three adult children.

Now she lives with her husband in a Thai traditional stilt house in the moutainous area of northwest Vietnam. Her family income relies only on agricultural production such as growing rice, corn, vegetables, raising chickens, musk ducks, buffalo and fish.

After grade 4, because of a difficult situation, she had to drop out of school so she has no higher education. She feels that this makes it difficult to access new techniques in husbandry and cultivation.

Last year, seventy percentage of her musk ducks died because of diseases. This time, she has taken out a loan from Anh Chi Em program to buy chickens and musk ducks to expand her farming business. She hopes that with the support and counselling from Anh Chi Em social-economic team, this investment will go well and bring her great profit.
