Rosario's story

Rosario 48 years old and a resident of Jurisdiction Amulung Cagayan. She is married to Celestino a local farmer in their village. They are blessed with four children: Rowena, who is 30 years old, a college graduate and is now working as an elementary public teacher in their village; Gilbert who is 28 years old, also a college graduate, and also a public high school teacher; Rolando who is 26 years old, also a college graduate and now is working as an Overseas Filipino worker in a factory in Qatar; and finally, Mary-Ann who is 19 years old, and is now college student learning Information Technology. Two of Rosario's children are already married. Rosario’s husband manages their farming business while Rosaerio is works in a general store business in their village. At the general store, she earns a weekly income of PHP1,500. Recently, she has wanted her business to grow so that she can have an increase in her income. So, she is requesting a loan from Kiva lenders amounting to PHP15,000 to purchase additional items such as sugar, canned goods, coffee, ten cases of bottled soft drinks, etc. She believes that this will really help her business and her family to have a progressing standard of living.
