Siesta Group's story

When Theresa started her business, she just wanted to earn an additional income to supplement her husband’s wages. While she just wanted to earn ancillary income for petty household expenses, little did she know that this business was going to be a huge income generating activity for the family. When she started the business, she was raising and selling batches of 25 broiler chickens, but as of today, she is now raising and selling batches of 200 broiler chickens, and she plans to grow her business even further.

Theresa is a 45-year-old woman who stays in Harare. She is a widowed mother who takes care of one dependent currently pursuing a degree at a local university. She has been in the business of raising and selling broiler chickens for a period of more than 3 years. This business has been her main source of income. Theresa used her portion of the loan to raise an additional batch of 150 broiler chickens for the sake of growing her business.
