Uchumi Kinyerezi Group's story

Khadija is 26 years old and a married mother of two children; one is school-age and the last born is not yet in school. She is a clothing and shoe seller. She sells an East African cotton fabric, printed in various colours and designs with distinctive borders, used especially for women's clothing known as "Kitenge" and different types of shoes for ladies. She has been into this business for three years. She works daily from 8 in the morning and closes at 5 in the evening; her business is doing well and she earns profits.

This will be Khadija's first loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. She is applying for this loan to add more stock of cotton fabric printed in various colours and designs with distinctive borders for women known as "kitenge," and high heels, sneakers and other types of shoes for women. Her dreams is to open another business in the near future.

Khadija will share a portion of this loan with her loan group members of Uchum Kinyerezi.
