Maribel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to prepare the land to begin planting; with the profits, she will become independent.

Maribel's story

Maribel is 23 years old. She is single and her business is growing corn. She works in ‘Punata’, a rural area that supplies part of the city with its agricultural production,

Maribel lives with her parents. They gave her three hectares of arable land so that she could work it and become independent. Her business is farming and she produces corn and potato to sell. She has an irrigation system using well water that guarantees a good harvest. She has harvests twice a year, and stores the crop to sell at the local market, in accordance with supply and demand.

To begin planting, she needs to prepare the land, turning the soil and fertilizing. To do this she needs help. The advantage is that she has irrigation; her problem is the high costs in the beginning. Her dream is to buy machinery that will help her in her work. She wants to begin the work for planting. With this loan, she will buy organic mulch and seeds, and also will hire laborers to help. This is the first loan that she receives from the institution in the four years she has done this work.

It is for these reasons that Maribel requests a loan to prepare the soil to being planting, and to become independent through the profits.
