Angella Group's story

Angella is 52 years old and a mother of three, all of whom are still in school. She is married and her husband works for a local a Non-Governmental organization. She is a homeowner and sometimes helps her parents financially.

Angella trained in chicken farming and financing at Thrive Microfinance. The business of raising and selling chickens is associated with higher risk but it has got higher returns. She started her own business from her home 10 years ago and it is now doing well. Her fowl run has a capacity of up to 250 birds and is able to sell about 200 birds every month. She supplies local butcheries in her neighborhood and sometimes to individuals in her location.

Now that Angella’s business has become well-established, she wants financial support such that she can be able to supply chickens on a fortnightly basis. Angella got a loan of $500 to boost her business by increasing the number of batches she can buy.
