"grace" Female Farmers Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to pay for improved seed, organic inputs, and a tractor rental, which will allow her to farm a larger area with a higher yield.

"grace" Female Farmers Group's story

Fatmata S, the featured borrower of Grace Female Farmers Group, is a proud mother of 7 and a spiritual leader in her community. As well as being a successful farmer, she works with community youth to ensure they have good access to guidance and support. In her own words, Fatmata feels that "farming is a very important part of life here. If given the chance, we will succeed by God in Power."

Fatmata has organized an exceptional group of female farmers who have named their group "Grace Female Farmers." All members are currently trapped in a cycle of subsistence farming and take extremely high-interest loans for poor-quality inputs during planting time. A no-interest Kiva loan will therefore enable this group of determined women to get back on their feet and back in business. Fatmata plans to use her portion of the loan to pay for improved seed, organic inputs, and a tractor rental, which will allow her to farm a larger area with a higher yield.
