Hellen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as seeds and fertilizers to improve the quality of her crops which will make more profits and help this single mom pay for her children's education.

Hellen's story

Meet Hellen, a very determined single mom in Nkubu. Hellen believes that “the price of success is hard work.” She is a woman who knows what it takes to succeed and is passionate about what she does.

Hellen lives with her family and sustains them using the proceeds of her farming. She is the sole breadwinner in her household. Because of her love for farming, she has even nicknamed one of her cows. This makes her a very proud farmer, especially when she is milking her cows. From her dairy cow, she is able to get between 5 and 10 liters of milk per day, and this helps her support her family.

Hellen also raises crops, but she has not been making good profits because of low-quality farm inputs, which is why she is seeking a loan to buy better ones.

This loan will allow her to buy high-quality seeds and good fertilizer to improve her crops. Hellen is a visionary woman, and her goal for this season is to boost her crop production and to be able to produce a larger harvest than last year. All this can be achieved through the help and goodwill of lenders. She believes that, through this loan, she will turn around her family's life and give her children a solid education.

This loan will play a big part in pulling her out of poverty in 2018.
