Monicah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to start horticultural farm and improve income and her family's living standards.

Monicah's story

Thanks to Monicah’s perseverance and courage, her household can lead a respectable life. She is so humble, honest and a very hardworking mother. She has a lovely family that she really adores very much.

Monicah never had the opportunity to advance her education but this did not kill her dream of wanting to succeed in life. She started farming six years ago and throughout this time, she has gathered much experience. Thus, she has many farming techniques at her fingertips.

Monicah practices mixed farming on her farm and through the profits she has managed to take care of her family's needs. She has provided her children with a good education because she believes that education is the only “key to success.”

Monicah is seeking a loan of 75,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) to buy seeds and start horticultural farming. She wants to take advantage of favorable weather patterns, a good road network in her village, good soil and a ready market for horticultural products, so that she can reap more profits.

Monicah hopes that through the loan she will improve her living conditions. With an improved income she will be able to assure her children of a secure future and uninterrupted learning as she will be able to pay tuition fees on time. She will employ people to work for her on her horticulture farm, hence having a positive impact on society.
