Marlene Isabel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in merchandise (lotions, colognes, make up) and cloth at whole sale and thus to improve her cost ratio.

Marlene Isabel's story

Marlene is a micro-businesswoman of 60 years of age, who lives in the city of Barranquilla. She became interested in business at a young age and started selling merchandise within her family circle. Afterwards, she learned dressmaking from an aunt with a lot of experience who offered her a job.

With some years of job experience in her aunt's shop, she decided to set up her own business. With the help of her family, she invested in inventory and in her first industrial sowing machine. She has had her own shop for 27 years and has very good results.

Her customers are friends, colleagues, family members and people who come to her by recommendation. Additionally, she sells catalogue products and makes deliveries.

Marlene is asking for her first loan with Kiva to invest in merchandise (lotions, colognes, make up) and cloth at wholesale level and thus to improve her cost ratio.
