Segunda Clorinda's story

Sra. Segunda Clorinda C. A. is 55 years old and lives in the District of Trujillo, Trujillo Province, Department of La Libertad – Perú. She is a member of the San Luis Communal Bank and has a 2nd grade education. Segunda says she left school because her parents wanted her to help them in the fields. She got married at age 17 and now has 4 children. The youngest child is 17 years old and still financially dependent because he is a student.

Segunda prepares and sells bread. Her first loan of 300 soles was used to buy sacks of flour at wholesale, shortening, salt, and yeast in order to bake bread.

With this loan of 2000 soles, she will purchase sacks of flour, yeast, shortening, and salt. She also will buy firewood in bulk for resale. Segunda dreams of increasing her sales so that she earn an income and continue supporting her son’s education.
