Boniface is a 29-year-old married father of two boys who runs a retail shop where he sells groceries and household items like sugar, tea leaves, cereals, mboga (greens), paraffin, soda, and ngano (wheat flour). He has been in this business for two years. Previously, he worked as the manager in a supermarket. He earns extra income from small-scale farming of maize, beans, oranges, and mangoes and also by providing services, such as landscaping, water harvesting, and construction. He is requesting a loan of 20,000 to increase his shop's stock of consumer goods. He hopes to achieve financial stability through savings and access to loans. He wants to enjoy the fruits of hard work and be an example of an individual with a saving culture and discipline. He will use any profits from his business to expand his shop, save for his children's education, and help others. He describes himself as a true beneficiary of Faulu and Kiva.
