Enemilce Ester's story

Enemilce is a 60-year-old microentrepreneur who resides in the city of Cartagena. Her sewing workshop is located in her home. She started this business many years ago, when her spouse abandoned her and she left her hometown in search of better opportunities for her children.

In Cartagena, she started working as an assistant in a sewing workshop where she did nothing but attach buttons and make buttonholes. As time went by, she learned more and more until she was able to operate industrial machinery. With the salary she was making, she supported her household and paid for her two children's education. She managed to purchase a machine and built a clientele at her home until she started her own business.

Now she does work for small businesses, schools, community members, etc. She is seeking her first Kiva loan in order to invest in purchasing merchandise, fabrics, and supplies for making uniforms because the school season is approaching, and uniform sales are up. Support her loan.
