but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 10 pigs for her animal husbandry business.

Vendedoras De Capellania Group's story

Huehuetenango is a department/state located next to the Mexican border, characterized by high mountains and a cool climate. It is an area with a very high rate of poverty. Eight women who live here have visions of a more prosperous future and have formed the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank "Vendedoras de Capellania". They have animal husbandry businesses, clothing businesses and businesses selling plastic containers. The women meet monthly to make payments on their loans and participate in educational training, part of the Microcredit Plus program of loans, education and healthcare services. Because they have little or no formal education, they are eager to learn about effective business management practices, how to care for their families (nutrition, health, hygiene) and how to empower themselves (self-esteem, women's roles and rights). These ladies are about to begin their first loan cycle with Kiva.

Yesica, a 20-year-old married mother of a 20-month-old daughter, is the youngest member of the group. She has a sixth-grade education. Yesica has an animal husbandry business buying and selling chickens and cattle. She is requesting a loan to buy 10 pigs. Yesica will put aside funds for the education of her daughter and to help with the household expenses.

Kiva investors are highly appreciated by Yesica and her friends in the Trust Bank. Thank you to each of you for believing in these ladies and funding their loans!
