Tierra Santa Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy live pigs and then butcher and sell the meat.

Tierra Santa Group's story

Tierra Santa is a group made up of 4 hard-working women who work every day to move their families forward together. Martha, 37 years old, has earned a living selling nacatamales (corn, rice and meat wrapped in a banana leaf) and butchering and selling pork products for 6 years.

She is single and has two children she is responsible for, aged 15 and 17, who are the motive for her work to sustain and maintain their education. She is asking for a loan for the ninth time to buy live pigs and then butcher and sell the meat.

Her fellow members are; Marbelline, aged 30, who earns a living selling tamarinds, plums and seasonal fruit and vegetables; Marlin, aged 47, who earns a living buying and selling fruit and vegetable crops, and Sonia, aged 23, who earns a living selling clothes and fruit and vegetable crops.
