A loan helped to purchase more stock of firewood to expand firewood business.

Bulbuli's story

Bulbuli is a 25-year-old married woman residing in Cooch Behar district, West Bengal. She is engaged in a firewood business because her husband is engaged in a firewood selling business. He is the only earning member of the family. His potential customers are his neighbors.

He purchases logs from his village and neighboring villages, and cuts them into small pieces to resell to his neighbors and nearest market. Her husband has chosen this business because there is a great demand for firewood in their locality. Firewood is an essential item in their daily life because it is used as a fuel for cooking in rural West Bengal.

Now, her husband wants to grow his business, but due to a lack of money, he cannot expand the business. Bulbuli has a household of 6 members and a monthly income of 9,500 INR.

Bulbuli wants to purchase more amounts of wood to sell as firewood in the local market. She has applied for a loan of 30,000 INR from BJS, one of Milaap's field partners. She and her family will be thankful to their lenders.
