Dokor's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy weaving materials so she can secure consistent hammock work.

Dokor's story

Dokor has completely transformed her life and her family through hammock weaving! For many years she worked in the fields alongside her children and she was desperate to create a better life for them. With her weaving income, she was able to free her family from slash and burn field labor and support her children’s education.

She succeeded in educating her children beyond her wildest dreams! With her weaving income, she has been able to put two of her daughters through university in Bangkok! Her eldest daughter has graduated from school and has a job working with the health department. Her second daughter started college recently and is already looking forward to her opportunities after graduation.

Dokor has not been involved in field work since she got her first Kiva loan and had her first chance to stabilize her income. She has worked on learning to budget and save for long-term improvements in her life. This year she is planning to add a tiled floor to her home, which will make it easier to keep clean and to weave her hammocks. She is looking forward to building on this strong foundation in the year to come.
