A loan helped buy merchandise to stock her business: clothes, shoes, small appliances, cell phones, crafts and wood furniture.

Juana Yaneth's story

Juana is a brave 43-year-old woman who lives in a humble home located in a popular neighborhood of Barranquilla. She is a female head of household and mother responsible for four children, who are of legal age.

When separated from her partner, she found in the merchandise sales an alternative to generate income for the sustenance of her family group. A sister provided her with some items from her business so that she could start her own. Outside the school, she began to show the students headbands, hooks and hair buckles. Later, with her earnings and more capital contributions, she expanded her product offerings. Then she offered her client base, family, friends and acquaintances articles for the home and also jewelry.

Juana has twelve years of experience selling and made a credit application,to Kiva, for an opportunity to link to financial life through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation.

This will allow her to travel to the city of Bogotá and buy merchandise to stock her business: clothes, footwear, small appliances, cell phones, crafts and wood furniture.
