Kumba's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more bags of charcoal to sell.

Kumba's story

This is 50-year-old Kumba. She is a single woman with three children. They live at home while in school. Kumba went to school until 11th grade. She sells bags of charcoal within the general market. She learned how to sell from her mother.

She describes herself as a strong and hardworking business woman. Kumba says she likes her business because it is self-supportive. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She begins to sell from 7:00 a.m. until 4:50 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

To add to her sales, Kumba applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia and Kiva field partner to buy more bags of charcoal to sell and expand in business. She has been in this business for 10 years now.

In the future, she would like to deal in an international business. She wishes to say thanks.
