Sameena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy an additional sewing machine and raw material such as rexine, leather, thread, nails and rubber soles for her husband's business making shoes.

Sameena's story

Sameena is a 42-year old married woman living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of seven children. Sameena appears in the photo with her husband.

Sameena helps her husband to sew shoes and patch soles. In this way, both of them generate income for the entire family. Actually, her husband is a professional person and deals with outsiders, as well. He has been sewing shoes for many years and has a lot of experience in his profession. He uses a sewing machine to sew shoes made of leather and rexine, and then attaches the sole by hand stitching. His current income is insufficient to provide for the whole family. He has been making shoes at home, and now wants to hire a lady to work, as well, but he does not have cash on hand to buy an additional sewing machine.

Therefore, Sameena has requested a Kiva loan for her husband to buy a sewing machine and raw material such as rexine, leather, thread, nails and rubber soles for making shoes.

Sameena thanks Kiva and field partner, BRAC Pakistan, for this honorable support.
