Joyce's story

Meet 26-year-old Joyce. She is a single mother with 1 child, aged 1 year. The child of Joyce lives at home but is not in school. Joyce attended school until 10th grade. In order to sponsor her child, she deals in a business which sells used clothes. It's a business she has managed for five years and she describes herself as a hard working businesswoman. She started to sell with her own savings and she also learned how to sell by herself. She uses a taxi to transport supplies to her business site. She has faced no problems with her business. She sells from 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.

To increase the business, Joyce requires a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. The loan will be used to buy more used clothes to sell in order to generate more profits that will enable her to pay back her loan. She likes her business because sales are fast on a daily basis and she feels proud of her business because it provides meals for her child. She dreams of owning a shop within the future.

Joyce says thanks to all lenders around the world.
