Anna's Group's story

The banc villageois to which this group of 5 women belongs was started in May 2007. They mainly sell diverse products. Mrs. Mireille, who is at the right in the photo raising her hand, is the group representative. She is a 45-year-old single mother of three girls. She has been progressing in this line of business for several years. With her new loan, she plans to buy four 20-liter containers of palm oil, three 20-liter containers of lemon juice, and five pails of "nététou" (a spicy seasoning made from a seed), which she will resell from home and in Dakar. The earnings will allow her to take charge of the daily expenses and the education and health of her children.
