A loan helped to buy ingredients for her restaurant.

Rama's Group's story

This group is a part of the banc villageois that was created in December 2008. It is made up of 25 women, who live in the same area and are friends, relatives, and neighbors. They have a good experience with loans. The women mostly work in small-scale commerce.

Diakhou, the [group's] representative who is standing on the right in the photo, is 50 years old, married, and a mother of seven children--including two sons. She works preparing and selling food and has 15 years' experience. She [also] works at a bakery at night.

With this loan, she plans to buy a 5-liter drum of oil, packs of spaghetti, a sack of onions, one tray of eggs, chickens, and bouillon [cubes]. Profits will serve to increase her savings and her business.
