Mithung's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy chickens and feed for her organic poultry farm.

Mithung's story

Mithung is approximately 50 years old. She is now replacing her old chickens with new ones at her organic egg farm.

Mithung is a member of the Akha tribe in northern Thailand, one of several different ethnic groups in the mountains of southern China, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, and Thailand. For her entire life, she has grown corn and beans on family land in the mountains near her home. But because the prices of her farm goods go up and down, her income is very unpredictable, and is rarely enough to support her family.

Selling eggs that she will have every day can potentially triple the income Mithung makes now. And because she previously could only sell corn and beans once or twice a year, her poultry farm will give her and her family a regular source of monthly income. She will be able to put her new income toward sending her kids to school, buying better food for her family, and repairing her home.

She has demonstrated responsibility in the past and is a good caretaker of chickens and her farm.
