Benkadi Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy the materials to make canaris (pottery containers) to sell.

Benkadi Group's story

Hawa is the person in the group holding a canaris (pottery container), with jars on the ground in front of her. She is a 47-year-old Malian saleswoman, married and the mother of six children, including one girl and five boys. She did not have the opportunity to go to school. Three of the five boys, ages 14, 13 and 7 years, attend school.

Hawa learned this craft from her mother at an early age and continues to this day. This is her business. Hawa buys her materials to make jars and canaris at the local market. She uses the profit to sell on order at the same market and in the surrounding area. With the profit, Hawa manages to pay for her children's needs: clothing, school fees and other family expenses.

In the future, she wants to have a proper place to securely store her jars and canaris after she makes them and before they are sold. She also wants to have financing to raise animals as an additional business. For those reasons, Hawa decided to borrow from the microfinance organization RMCR to achieve her dreams.
