Groital's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped a local farm use modern farming techniques and create jobs in rural Ghana.
Farmers in rural Ghana lack access to the necessary water reserves to grow produce all year round. Therefore Ghana has as shortage of local fruits and vegetables. Commercial buyers import produce and increase the price of many fruits and vegetables.
Groital (pronounced Grow-it-all) has created a farm to grow fruits and vegetables and has equipped its farm with solar water pumps, drones, mobile applications and disease/pest control management techniques. These enhancements make Groital better prepared to grow year round and monitor for potential infections. Companies like ShopRite, KFC and HPW AG (Hanspeter Werder) have signed contracts with Groital to purchase more produce than Groital can currently supply.
With this Kiva loan, Groital will be able to purchase additional seeds and agricultural inputs to increase their supply which they have already lined up buyers for. Groital will also be able to employ an additional 3 full time employees.
