Maria Luisa's story

Maria is 32 years old. She lives with her spouse and 6 children. Her business is growing coca. She does her work in La Asunta, a community of the coca growing tradition.

María and her family live in their own home. There she has a hectare of land where she grows coca and tangerines. The crops are perennials. This means that they are planted once and are harvested for several years and don't need a lot of care. She sells at the local market. Sue to a lack of a warehouse to keep her harvest in, she suffers losses due to the weather, rodents, and other pests. the advantage is that she harvests several times a year. The problem is storing the harvest. Her dream is to expand the crop land. She wants to store her harvest in a warehouse so that she won't suffer losses. With this loan, she will build a warehouse to store her harvest and agriculture materials. This is the first loan that she has received from the institution in the 14 years that she has been doing this activity.
