Mary's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to grow horticultural crops on her farm.

Mary's story

Different farmers tell different stories of why they chose farming. This is true for Mary (pictured above). She chose to practice farming as a way of sustaining her family that she loves dearly. She is a hardworking woman with a great desire to achieve. She likes to identify opportunities and then seek the most viable one. Currently, she gets her income by selling milk to her neighbors and the local market.

Mary works hard to better her life and that of her household. The meager income she gets is completely used for the welfare of her family. Despite her hard work, she still finds it difficult to completely satisfy them. She wants to start growing horticultural crops such as tomatoes, cabbages, and carrots on her farm. She is looking for financial intervention to help her achieve her objective.

Mary is excited to know that the partnership with Juhudi Kilimo is meant to elevate the life of enterprising women like her and she feels relieved that she can get a loan. She has applied for a loan and has sent her appreciation to Kiva lenders for their good will.
