Djeneba is the woman who is holding the ram's rope on the picture. She is 58 years old, illiterate, from Mali and has a good personality. She is a widow and the mother of four children, including two sons, who are between 11 and 21 years old; one of her sons goes to school. She lives in Mali and has been doing this business for about 31 years.
Her dreams and hopes are to make the most profit out of her business in order to help her family and ensure her children are well fed and receive a good education.
She resorts to a micro-finance institution because it is beneficial to her and it is a profitable service for working women. She will use her loan to buy rams for her cattle breeding business which she has been managing for the last 26 years. Her forecasted income is 80000 F which will enable her to pay her children's school supplies as well as a few clothes for them.
