Elsa's story

Elsa is 60 years old and married. Their 4 children are school age and her business is producing cheese. Her work is done in the 'Patacamaya' rural zone where the paths to 3 cities cross.

Elsa and her family live in their own home, there they have 17 hectares of farming land where they look after 3 cows, 3 pregnant cows and 3 calves, which are the animals that they work with. She earns a living producing cheese. She has a little stable where she collects the milk daily, she also has potato and quinoa crops. The cheese production is daily and she makes sales in the local market twice a week.

To improve her business she needs to produce a greater quantity of milk, in this way she will produce more cheese and improve her sales. The advantage is that she sells wholesale and retail, the problem is producing a greater volume to improve sales. Her dream is to expand her products and produce yogurt, she hopes to sell a greater quantity of cheese. With this loan she will buy 2 dairy cows. It is the sixth loan that she has received from the institution in the 16 years that she has done this work.

It is for these reasons that Elsa is asking for a loan to buy 2 dairy cows to produce a greater quantity of cheese and improve sales.
