Ann's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds, fertilizer and pesticides.

Ann's story

Many smallholder farmers and hardworking people with the will and strength to get ahead and strive for a better future live in the Chuka area of Kenya. One of them is Ann, a woman who, with charisma and a great capacity for work, has been able to overcome various obstacles that have been presented to her in her life.

Living in a poor, third-world country where work opportunities are scarce has never been an excuse for Ann, who has been practicing mixed farming for the past 10 years.

Ann is a woman eager to get ahead, and she is blessed with lovely children who are her greatest motivation in life. She perseveres because she wants to provide a better future for them.

Ann has always had an affinity for farming and nicknamed one of her cows. She is a very proud farmer. She enjoys milking her dairy cows. Her cows produce between 10 and 15 liters a day, and this helps her support her family.

Ann grows crops, but she has not been making good profits because of poor farming inputs.

Ann will use the loan to buy farm inputs and purchase high-quality seeds, good fertilizer and pesticides to improve crop production.

Modern farming requires the use of modern techniques, and therefore using high-quality seeds will assure her of a bumper harvest.

Ann is very visionary. Her goals for the season are to boost her crop production over the previous year and to build a modern dairy house.

Light up a life this holiday season!
