Lizelle's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped us keep our 17 year old Yoga Institute open after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. We will replace the storefront sign and damaged equipment, boost our advertising and gain working capital to get back on our feet.

Lizelle's story

I started this business because Yoga Saved my life, it helped me get healthy of mind and body after a long battle with depression. I practiced on my own for 5 years before deciding to travel to get certified and I haven't stopped studying or practicing since, There wasn't a place in PR like the ones I had visited in the US so I decided to open the studio so I could practice and share what had done me so much good. 45% of the population of PR has been diagnosed with depression, 65% of the population is obese and we are among the top 3 consumers of alcohol per capita in the world , I saw this an opportunity to help, it was my calling. I dedicated myself to the study of yoga therapy and the clinical applications of yoga to improve health and wellbeing. In 2015 I became the first female latina to be certified as a Professional Yoga therapist by IAYT (the International association of Yoga Therapists). My next goals are: short term- help the people of Puerto Rico stay centred, physically and mentally healthy throughout this difficult time and long term- to turn Samadhi Yoga Institute in the premier Spanish speaking training center for Yoga therapy professionals in the wold, I have dedicated 17 years of my life to this cause and I know my determination and passion is a force of nature much stronger than any category 5 hurricane!
